My goal in life is « to be a lifelong learner and to use my knowledge and skills to empower others to develop, grow, and thrive. » Delight taking new challenges, I am very proud of my work when I see that my contributions have brought inspiration and meaning to the lives of those who need it most.
For the past 20 years, I have worked in the field of international development and humanitarian to promote, protect and defend the rights, needs and interests of the most disadvantaged, and to empower vulnerable communities to access basic social services and find practical, innovative and sustainable solutions to poverty. I have managed dispersed and multicultural teams and supervised programs in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Nigeria, Mauritania and the Central African Republic (CAR). Currently BHA Head of projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) at International Rescue Committee (IRC), covering three provinces in the country (North Kivu, Ituri and Tanganyika). I am providing leadership and strategic direction for a multi-sectoral emergency program in several conflict-affected provinces, prioritizing and organizing program resources and activities to ensure results. Prior to joining IRC, I was Protection Coordinator in Nigeria for Première Urgence International (2020 – 2021). In this capacity, I provided strategic leadership and oversight of protection program and operations in the country. I oversaw the organizational positioning process as Gender Based Violence (GBV) actor in Nigeria. This involved leading and supporting the country to develop a protection strategy and related Standards operating procedures (SOPs), Country Protection Framework and GBV training materials as well as building the capacity of protection team to deliver quality GBV preventive and response program.
From 2018 to 2020, I worked for Tearfund in DR Congo and held a leadership and senior management position (Project Coordinator). I was responsible for managing the project team and collaborating with partners to comply with agreed program standards and policies, and project implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation, reporting, quality tracking and capacity building. I provided programmatic and project management leadership to OFDA project and partners, ensuring that project is implemented, monitored, evaluated and reported in accordance with donor’s quality standards and within Tearfund’s management compliance systems.
I hold a Graduate degree (Medical Technics and Nursing sciences) from Institut Supérieur des Techniques Médicales de Bukavu in Democratic Republic of Congo.
I am fluent in English and French. Rooted in Africa and connected to the world, I have worked in several African countries.
